ABOUT MY PRACTICE
Experience

I’m Theresa Montgomery, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Kansas with a deep understanding of the healing journey. I'm passionate about helping people who are ready to start healing from past emotional wounds and begin the path of true self-discovery.
I combine both my formal training and personal experience to guide individuals—supporting them as they uncover their potential and begin to heal in a meaningful way.
I have extensive experience working with people navigating anxiety, depression, relationship trauma, and life transitions. I’m especially skilled in supporting those who are coping with grief and loss—whether it’s the death of a loved one or it may arise from a different kind of loss----like the end of a relationship, a difficult family dynamic, or a loved one who is no longer emotionally present. I offer a space where all kinds of grief are welcome and honored, whether your loss is visible to others or quietly carried inside.
Methodology

In our work together, we’ll explore how past experiences may be influencing your current patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating to others. When we’re stuck in unhealthy relationship dynamics, it can be hard to feel like our authentic selves. I believe that deeper self-understanding lays the foundation for lasting change. The goal isn’t to change who you are—but to help you reclaim the parts of yourself that may have been buried under pain or misunderstanding.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and somatic techniques that are clinically proven to help release trauma and build a sense of safety and regulation in the body.

FAQ
01
What are your fees?
I charge $140 for a 50 minute session.
03
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that all clients cancel or reschedule within 24 hours before the appointed time. If you fail to do so you will be charged the full fee.
05
I have never been to counseling. How does this work?
You are not alone! Many people feel unsure about what to expect when starting therapy. In our first session, we will take time to get to know one another and review your intake questionnaire, discuss your goals for therapy, and collaborate on a treatment plan that is best suited for your specific needs.
02
Do you take insurance?
I am private pay and do not currently take insurance. I am an out-of-network provider. For out-of-network benefits, you will be provided a Superbill at the end of each month to be submitted for reimbursement to your insurance or other flexible health care benefits which can be applied to your deductible. I strongly encourage you to contact your insurance to confirm their policies and receive instructions on how to best submit claims for reimbursement (if applicable).
04
Do you offer services in person or telehealth?
I offer in person and Telehealth services. For sessions provided through telehealth I will provide you with a link to a secure, HIPAA compliant teletherapy platform.
